Northern University
The university is presently based in its city campus, at Nowshera. The campus is centrally located and is easily accessible through public transport. Suitable land (124 Kanals) has been acquired for the main campus at Nowshera, and the foundation stone for the main block was laid by Mr. Khalil Ur Rehman, Governor NWFP in April 2005 The university presently has four faculties, with adequate facilities to become center of excellence in its own right.   1. Northern University has been upgraded to “W” category (old category “A”) in March 2009.
  2. Introduction of M.Phil and Ph.D. programs
  3. Full Fee, Zakat Based Scholarships available to the students. Presently 49 students are availing this financial Aid.
  4. EDR Trust Subsidize fee.
  5. Sports Events inter department matches scheduled in March 2012.
  6. Study Tour to PTC Akora Khattak and Attock Oil Company plan in Feb/March 2012.
  7. BSc Home Economics (Hons.) and BSc Textile & Fashion Design (Hons.) planned in Spring Admissions 2012.
  8. Convocation tentatively planned in April/ May 2012.
  9. MBA & BBA programs effective Spring 2011 will be run according to HEC Policy Enforced in the year 2010/2011.
  10. PhD Program in Education have started since Year 2009/ 2010.
  11. Environmental Science MS and MPhil Programs launched effective Summer 2011.
  12. KPK Province have placed great emphasis to the district of Nowshera and lately foundation stone of all police training establishments have taken place across the campus road Hattar Wali Ziarat Kaka Sahib.
  13. University will collaborate police training degree programs and will open new departments.
  14. Students are required to give Paper Affidavit for the collection of original Degree.
  15. Transcript/ Provincial Certificates/ Degree are Subject to verifications.

  16. The improvement in the intake of university admissions and graduating student’s performance is a clear indication of its quality control.

    To promote higher education in Nowshera, EDR Trust is giving  scholorships to all students i.e. 40% of tution fee, since year 2003

Northern University will continue to fulfil its responsibilities to the society by working beyond the horizons and I have directed the staff to serve the students by imparting high quality education, second to none. The University is committed to providing education of the highest quality. We will set the standards of education and others will follow.

I have asked the faculty to design the degree programs in order to develop leadership qualities, professional excellence and character building so that students can enter practical world with vision and sound educational base. The aim should be very clear and should lay the foundation for higher education and research.
