who we are
Northern University has been established by the Government of NWFP in private sector, vide NWFP ordinance No. XLVIII of 2002, published under Extraordinary Gazette No. P.111 dated 2nd November 2002. It is recognized by Higher Education Commission (HEC) as a degree awarding university operating in private sector. Northern University has been upgraded to “W” Category (previously know as “A” Category) in 2009.

  1. Northern University has been upgraded to “W” category (old category “A”) in March 2009.
  2. Introduction of M.Phil and Ph.D. programs
  3. Full Fee, Zakat Based Scholarships available to the students. Presently 49 students are availing this financial Aid.
  4. EDR Trust Subsidize fee.
  5. Sports Events inter department matches scheduled in March 2012.
  6. Study Tour to PTC Akora Khattak and Attock Oil Company plan in Feb/March 2012.
  7. BSc Home Economics (Hons.) and BSc Textile & Fashion Design (Hons.) planned in Spring Admissions 2012.
  8. Convocation tentatively planned in April/ May 2012.
  9. MBA & BBA programs effective Spring 2011 will be run according to HEC Policy Enforced in the year 2010/2011.
  10. PhD Program in Education have started since Year 2009/ 2010.
  11. Environmental Science MS and MPhil Programs launched effective Summer 2011.
  12. KPK Province have placed great emphasis to the district of Nowshera and lately foundation stone of all police training establishments have taken place across the campus road Hattar Wali Ziarat Kaka Sahib.
  13. University will collaborate police training degree programs and will open new departments.
  14. Students are required to give Paper Affidavit for the collection of original Degree.
  15. Transcript/ Provincial Certificates/ Degree are Subject to verifications.

  16. The improvement in the intake of university admissions and graduating student’s performance is a clear indication of its quality control.

  19. Scholorships
    To promote higher education in Nowshera, EDR Trust is giving  scholorships to all students i.e. 40% of tution fee, since year 2003    
  20. The University has 11 PhD Faculty members on its roll.

NOTICE
 
 

All students are hereby informed that due to heavy floods in Nowshera, the City Campus’  (No. 3 the Mall, Nowshera Cantt.) infrastructure has been badly damaged. Keeping in view the future threats of floods and safety of girl students, especially the hostel residents, the University City Campus is being shifted to one of the safest places in Nowshera, where the flood waters did not reach. The New City Campus is situated at Hakimabad, Dheri Katti Khel Road (200 yards from GT Road).
